Greetings, Beloveds!

While we are “Embracing Change”, we discussed last Sunday the powerful “action” of prayer and now we are upon International Peace Day for which there are a multitude of ways to get up and get involved.

Check out,

Option #1:
Minute of Silence/Moment of Peace: “The Peace Wave”
In 1984, in commemoration of the annual International Day of Peace and in solidarity with the United Nations, the NGO Pathways To Peace inaugurated the Minute of Silence at 12:00 Noon in each time zone, resulting in a “Peace Wave” around the world. Individuals, organizations, communities and nations are invited to participate in this shared and practical act of peacebuilding on September 21.

Option #2:
Get inspired at a #Resistance Concert with Emma’s Revolution on September 21st at the UUFellowship of Northern NV for the International Day of Peace!
Emma’s Revolution is the dynamic, award-winning activist duo of Pat Humphries & Sandy O, whose songs have been sung for the Dalai Lama, praised by Pete Seeger, and covered by Holly Near. With beautiful vocal harmonies and genre-defying eclecticism, the duo delivers an uprising of truth and hope for these tumultuous times.

Option #3:
Every Man, Woman and Child Meditation by Merrill Collins
Everyone is invited to join a global Peace Day singalong and dance party to Every Man, Woman, and Child, a musical presentation by Merrill Collins of Spiraling Music. Every Man, Woman, and Child, is a musical celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. An a capella version of this beautiful song, which was originally recorded when Merrill was composer-in-residence at Pathways to Peace in the 1980s, won a Global Peace Song Award last year. This year, new versions of the song are being recorded to engage every audience, from a hip hop reading of the articles to a global meditation, to a West African Highlife! Everyone and all communities are encouraged to use Every Man, Woman, and Child to create their own events and dance videos! Videos and photos will be shared and celebrated on Peace Day on September 21st, 2019. Copy/paste link into browser to sign-up:

Please post on FB of any other events of which you’d like to make us aware; please tag Unity of the Sierra and get the word out . . . . and let’s make some noise for Peace!

For us, Unity of the Sierra will honor the Peace within and share that Peace with the world as we practice being a stand for Peace this Sunday morning at 10AM. We will combine themes of Embracing Change and Claiming Peace. Hope to see you there!

Embracing Change: My life is enlivened and enriched by a new perspective.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!
