The Interfaith Heal the World Picnic
will be held Saturday, August 25 starting at 5:00 p.m.
on the grounds of Saint Peter’sSaturday, August 25th, the grounds of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church were filled with 165 people of all ages and faiths (Episcopalian, Unity, Methodist, Jewish, Catholic, Latter Day Saints, Buddhist, Sikh, and others) celebrating, raising donations for six local charities, and learning about each other and their religious experiences. They came together to “break bread” in the form of a pot-luck; to listen to songs of joy and peace from choirs of different faiths; and even to face paint (not just the children!).

A highlight was when everyone was invited to form two lines facing each other, and to share about themselves with others as an exercise in interfaith dialogue. The picnic was honored to hear Mr. Malkait Dhami and his son, Mr. Jaswinder Dhami, say a few words from the Sikh community. The Interfaith Clergy will be holding a Thanksgiving Celebration in November. Information will be available in the coming months at Unity of the Sierra.
