The focus in February during the year of ‘The Courage to Imagine’ is Love. We have great Guest Speakers lined up for the next couple Sundays, and I invite you to ponder how their messages relate to the Love that you are.
If you were lucky enough to be with us one Sunday in August last year when Rev. Phil Pierson was the Guest Speaker, then you may remember him saying, “Love is the Master Faculty (referring to the Twelve Powers) through which all other faculties must pass in order to develop to their full potential within us”. His words really stood out for me, as this was a Divine Idea I had received many years ago in my early days as a Unity Truth student. Love isn’t exclusively one of the Twelve Powers, It also rises above that which we believe we are to show us what we could become, the Christ. In other words, all of the Twelve Powers must be directed by Christ Consciousness; by What. We. Are. . . . Love.
Jesus’s hope for us, his prayer treatment for us was, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
I’m sure we are all developed in our Understanding enough not to fall into the all too common trap of interpreting this as a proselytizing call to follow Jesus, and only Jesus, into Christianity if we want to be rewarded with the ability to perform miracles. Pah-lease! Metaphysically, it is a call to awaken to What we already are as a path to know the One True Source more fully. And, with Love – as we all know – All Things are possible.
When Jesus was asked by a crafty lawyer to name the greatest commandment He quickly answered that all the Law and the Prophets could be summarized thusly: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the greatest commandment. And a second is like unto this. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.”
This month, we will explore how to develop Love as the Guiding Light that it is, in order to live Life the way it is meant to be lived, the way our Elder Brother was always encouraging us to Live. Through this process, all of the Twelve Powers come into alignment and strengthen the Christ within so that we can share the Truth of What We Are, LOVE, as a Light unto the world.
