Here’s more information about Mark:

Mark Haskett 8/23/2013

MARK HASKETT has been a student of religion throughout his life. Deeply influenced by a grandmother who was a devoted Christian Scientist, he was raised in a Methodist family, was later accepted into a United Methodist seminary but attended California State University, Long Beach, and graduated in 1972 with a degree in Philosophy. He went on to earn an “area of specialization” in Religious Studies as well as a California secondary teaching credential, and eventually found his “spiritual home” within the Jewish tradition.

While Mark has earned his “daily bread” in the field of design and copywriting since moving to Modesto, California in 1975, he has always been active in the local community of faith. He served on the board of directors for Inter-Faith Ministries for over a decade before founding his own non-profit organization, InnerFaith Resources, to promote mutual understanding and dialog between the area’s diverse religious communities. The organization sponsors a popular Inter-Religious Thanksgiving Celebration that raises food and funds for the local emergency food bank, and, as Mark admits, “is the spiritual highlight of the year for me.”

Mark continues to speak and write on topics of spiritual/religious interest, and more recently has begun touring with his repertoire of original songs adapted word-for-word from Kahlil Gibran’s poetic masterpiece, The Prophet.
